Can you surf the internet on the Playstation 3?

I just told my dad that it was possible to watch youtube videos on the Playstation 3, and now he wants me to hook mine up in his living room.

Yes, its on the network tab, labbeled handily “internet” the search bar above is google search) youtube uses an older version of Flash so the Ps3 can play youtube videos.

a few of the gaming sites use the older version of flash too so they cna be accesd on the PS3 using console ot view gaming sites is obvisouly quite handy) you can use quite a few other sites too, but some newere web2.0 sites dont work i cnat get onto my email for example) I would suggest gettinga a cheap usb keybaord as the controller is pretty useless. Hopefully they wil make browser in-gmae, then you could go on gamefaq andd get walkthroughts whiel palying the gmae You do not need linux, only if you need to go to web 2.0 sites, or sites with new Flash, but youtube uses the old Flash.

this site will give you a playstation 3 just for completing some quick online tasks! really recommend it, especially if you're broke but really want a ps3 (like me).
