Means hacking the firmware by (most likely) putting custom firmware which allows you to run unsigned code that is not issued by Sony.
this means you can run ISOs (A psp game dumped into an iso file) from your memory card, allowing you to easily pirate and play commerical PSP games for free.
it allows you to run various programs that can for example, emulate the super nintendo entertainment system and play SNES roms (roms games, or in simplier words, you can play SNES games on your PSP, and not just SNES but all kinds of video game systems). Along with that you can run other programs such as IRSHELL, which is a useful took for doing bunch of cool things on the PSP, such as using it as a remote control for over 5000 different types of TVs and VCRs and DVD players.

Means you can download full psp games which are .iso, .cso., or .dax files into the iso folder in your memory card after your done just go to game>memory stick and start playing also you can mess around with the flash0 pimp your psp out a bit by changing the coldboot, cintro, theme, and etc, but thats too risky it may brick your psp.
without touching the flash0 you can instal cxmb 3.1 and use .ctf themes instead.. Oh right also you can run various types of old emulators right now the psone is the best emulator running n64 is sorta laggy, so is the ds one, gameboy ones are awesome also, dont no bout the rest like atari and stuff.
